The Louisiana Health Care Commission (LHCC) was created to review and study the availability and affordability of health care in the state. The commission is comprised of more than 40 members who represent health care organizations, industry associations and community groups; and meets quarterly in Baton Rouge. The LHCC is charged with assuring citizens the ability to obtain health insurance at affordable costs and encouraging employers to obtain health care benefits for their employees. The commission also participates in examining the implementation issues related to the national health care reform initiatives.
