A person meeting the following requirements may be exempt from completing continuing education if they are:
65 years of age or older, with at least fifteen (15) years of experience as a licensed agent, broker or solicitor and either;
(a) no longer actively engaged in the business of insurance and receiving social security benefits (if eligible) OR;
(b) actively engaged in the business of insurance and represent or operate through a licensed Louisiana insurer.
Eligible licensees may contact the Agent Licensing Division to obtain the form necessary for exemption. The form must be submitted with a copy of your birth certificate or driver’s license to confirm your date of birth. There is no fee for this process.
