What is SHIIP?

The Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) is a free & unbiased counseling program provided by the Louisiana Department of Insurance for Medicare beneficiaries in Louisiana. We are part of a federal network of State Health Insurance Information Programs located in every state. SHIIP is a non-profit organization designed to provide an unbiased place for seniors and pre-retirees to find answers to their health insurance questions. All of our services are free.

SHIIP is not affiliated with any insurance company or agency and does not sell insurance. We are staffed by a crew of volunteer counselors who have completed intensive training to offer you free and objective assistance in complete confidence.
