Prelicensing Education Information
Information for Producers
Under Louisiana law an individual is required to take prelicensing courses prior to scheduling and sitting for an examination for a producer license for certain lines of insurance. The candidate must sit for and pass the examination within one year of completion of the prelicensing course.
Information for Claims Adjusters
Prelicense education is optional for claims adjusters. Candidates for claims adjuster licenses may choose to participate in a prelicense education program to prepare for the license examination. Participation in such programs is voluntary.
